What are limited rights of probationary employees?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

A probationary employee is someone who’s working less than 90 days at a particular job. The definition of a probationary employee depends on why you’re asking for that definition. In other words, if you’re asking it for purposes of unemployment, it’s 90 days, but an employer, particularly in the state of Florida, could define the probationary period as any period of time they wanted from as short as 30 days to as long as a year. It really is up to the employer to set that parameter, but for unemployment purposes, it’s 90 days.
