What if my employer retaliates against me for filing a claim of discrimination?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

If you’re a current employee and you’ve been brave enough to bring to the attention of your employer what you feel is discrimination, you may find yourself being victimized again and being retaliated against. That’s illegal. If you find yourself in this situation, you have a number of options. One is to go back to human resource and complain, I recommend you do that in writing, feeling retaliated against. You can also file a charge of discrimination outlining this new retaliatory conduct, or you can hire an lawyer who can take care of those things for you. It’s important to keep in mind that retaliation is illegal and unlawful. You should keep good records and not stand up for that.
