Under federal law, there’s the Fair Housing Act, which allows for protections for individuals with disabilities among other protected traits, such as your gender or your national origin; so that you are free from discrimination by either your landlord or by a seller of a home for purposes of discrimination based on that protected trait. A service animal can help with a disability. Therefore, if you feel like you’re being discriminated against, because of a disability and a service animal that you might have, you may have rights under the Fair Housing Act.
