I am in the reserves. Do I have rights to my job if I have weekend duty?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

If you’re a member of the armed forces and you’re being called up for reserves and have weekend duty, yes, you do have a right to reinstatement by your employer. You want to me sure that, as soon as you’re called, notify your employer that this is the weekend that you’re going to be called up for duty and give them as much notice as possible. The rights are not unfettered. If you don’t provide adequate notice, that would be the reason the employer may not have to reinstate you.
