What employers are covered by the ADEA?

The ADEA is the Age Discrimination and Employment Act, and what it prohibits is age discrimination in the workplace which would include being wrongfully treated by your employer, either in discipline, evaluation, promotion, termination, or some other type of employment action. That statute allows for various types of damages which include lost wages, compensatory damages in rare cases, as well as lawyer’s fees and costs.
