What is unlawful employment discrimination?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

In the state of Florida, employees have certain protections against discrimination in the workplace based on protected traits. Those protected traits in the workplace can be your age, religion, national origin, your gender, and even sometimes under certain local ordinances, your sexual orientation. Employees are protected against employers making decisions based on these protected traits. If an employer does opt to make a decision regarding your employment based on one of those protected traits, it may suffice as a claim for wrongful termination. It’s advisable that you seek consultation with an employment lawyer if you think you’ve been subject to a discriminatory decision by your employer.
