What does it mean when the insurance company says that my benefits are offset by other sources of income?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

If you receive a letter from an insurance company saying that your benefits are being limited or modified in any way, first thing you should do is read the letter very carefully and find out what the time period is to appeal. It likely means that the insurance company believes that you’re receiving income from other sources, which need to be accounted for. This is completely consistent with the law. It doesn’t necessarily mean that your benefits will be turned off, just means that you need to report back lawfully the amount of income that you’re receiving.
