Legally, nobody can be discriminated against at work. Understanding the definition is important to answering that question. Discrimination only exists if you feel like you’re being treated differently because of a protected characteristic and you have to fall within some protected category such as age, race, sex, gender, national origin, religion. We see a whole new area of law blossoming for transgender and other types of rights.
