Do the anti-discrimination laws protect only women and minorities?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

The anti-discrimination laws don’t just protect women in minorities. They protect everybody. They don’t just protect unfair treatment. What they prevent is treatment based on some type of protected characteristics like for example age, race, sex, disability, handicap, religious beliefs. All of us are supposed to be treated equally. The anti-discrimination laws are not intended to give someone an unfair advantage but rather an equal advantage in the workplace.
